FAQ for Students: A few questions with short answers that students are asking.
If God gave us the Bible so that we could understand him better, then why are some parts of it VERY confusing? Why didn't he make everything clear?
We must admit that there are parts of the Bible that are confusing. The Bible is confusing because God wrote it, but he used human authors. They used different a language and had different historical and cultural contexts. There are parts of the Bible that are difficult to understand, but an objective interpretation is possible. It is important to realize that the essential messages of the Bible are clear, and without dispute.
Is Christianity the one true religion?
Yes, the Bible teaches that Christianity is the one true religion. Jesus said that He alone was the way to the Father (John 14:6), that He alone revealed the Father (Matt. 11:27; Luke 10:22).
Christians believe he was the Son of God (John 8:58; Exodus 3:14), who forgave sins (Mark 2:5; Luke 5:20; 7:48), and who rose from the dead (Luke 24:24-29; John 2:19f). Buddha didn't rise from the dead, nor did Confucius. Muhammad didn't fulfill detailed prophecy. There is far less reliable information written about them, yet they are believed in.
If you had two minutes to convince a person of a different belief about Jesus being our Lord and Savior what would you say?
Some really resist in believing that Jesus is God's Son. Try explaining the fact that Jesus did miracles that only God could do and that He was proclaimed to be God by the prophets and His own followers and that He proved who He was by His resurrection.
