FAQ for interested Parents and Volunteers: How can I get involved?

This is always a big question on the hearts of most parents. There are a couple things that you as parent can encourage your child to do.

- To just show up. We will do all we can to help make them feel welcomed and appreciated. Our student ministry's core is relationships. They are so vital to life and to our journey with Christ. We have students and leaders who desire to get to know your child and make sure there is a chair waiting for them.

- Some great starting points are through our experiences and large group gatherings.

EXPERIENCES: There is just something about taking a trip or serving together that creates a great sense of community where friendships are made and strengthened. We have several experiences throughout the year and summer (i.e. Camps, Retreats, Mission Trips, RUSH WEEK, Opportunities for students to hang out and invite friends)

LARGE GROUP GATHERINGS: Our large group gatherings allow students to come together for worship and celebration of our Amazing God. We use culture, humor and life stories to understand the message God has for our life as we dive wholly into the Teaching of Christ and His followers.

- Though we enjoy having students join us in our experiences and large group gatherings, our goal is to see them get involved in a small group. Small groups are where students really create lasting relationships and are how students stay connected in our student body.

- Here are a few other suggestions:

(1) Upon Request we'll have one of our leaders call and/or write your student to personally invite him/her to one of our experiences.

(2) We'll have one of our student leaders do the same as #1.

(3) We'll share whatever information we can that might help you help your student get involved. For example, your son might say, "I don't know anyone who goes there." That's a fair concern, but chances are there is someone there that they know and there are definitely people there who want to get to know your children. We'll give you names, offer options, and be waiting for them to arrive at a step so they'll have someone to sit with.

We will go the extra step to do all we can to make sure they feel welcomed and cared for. Please allow us to help. Either call us at 925.4599 or e-mail us at chadc@daypringchurch.com. Thanks.
